I'll be starting up the live radio broadcasts again soon (within the next 2 months) and the automated station as well...

'So what', you ask? Well, way back when I had the odd commercial, voiceover, NWR promo spot, etc., but they are so old now, I want some 'fresh meat'.

I would like some 'you are listening to NoWhere Radio' type splashes to drop here and there, and I'm looking for YOU to create them!  You could do simple, complex, whatever, just keep it under 30 seconds.  You can even plug your band, or your music with something like 'This is joe from The Overly Ugly Band, and you are listening to NoWhere Radio'!

Be creative, I'll pick the best ones and award the creators 6mo. iSpace. I'd particularly like to hear one or two containing the 'motto' that is quickly becoming the standard at NWR (and soon to appear on t-shirts and such):

'Being NoWhere is like being somewhere you haven't been before, only to realize you aren't anywhere at all.... You're EVERYWHERE'

These would be purely audio.

Any takers?

If you want to, get one going, and then drop a link to it here.  I'll sample them from time to time, and make my descision shortly before I open up the stations!

Cool!

We're up to about 5 submissions now, judging will be in roughly one month, close to when the station re-opens.

That works really well Parson Jay

Could maybe use a little compression on the voiceover to seperate it from the main mix.
Good job

There is some compression on the voiceover and I did some carving with the eq to make some room in the mix.  It stands out better than it did, but it probably could come front a little more.  I'll try playing with it a little more.  Thanks for the comments and taking the time to listen.    :)

Jeza,

I just checked out your promo spots.  Pretty good!  I do have a couple suggestions though:

On the first one, "from the UK" gets lost in the background".  I guess you're running in to the same problem I have of keeping the voiceover up front in the mix.  On the moto one, I think if you added some soft music in the background, it would be cool.  Well, thats my $.02 worth  ;)

I did a short promo and posted it here:

I sort of started with your theme and re-wrote bits of it.  I didn't do any background music because I think those things sound better with just a voice (personal preference).

Hehehe, cute.  I figure people will have to listen about, what, 5 or 6 times before they get it?

Eeeexcellent ;)

Yeah I thought that too.  It won't dawn on someone what "Anywhere radio" is right away.  But I thought it was a nice word game anyway.

I think your solution is right on - play the promo 5 or 6 times.   ;D

At least.
