hey there....

hmm.. I was about to email you generally an it may cover this, even if it doesn't I figure its worth it anyway. And hey, I am really up against the economic wall.. got here broke, but went out playing on the street and made $150 over the weekend and will be out tonight and all through the 4th and next weekend.. and right now I'm visiting ma and working on cars, computers, etc so have no worries about bills (immediately.. the rest.. well, that's what credit cards are for) so I could send you some cash though it wouldn't get to you for a bit.. post offices will be closed for the 4th down here.

the question is do I owe you some cash in reality or only in principle as far as setting up on nowhere goes... I mean, I can't afford to pay for any ads, but I recall weighing in on the side that some minimal type set-up fee wasn't out of line to keep things going, or get things going, or whatever.. it could be phased out to subzidize later newcomers maybe.. I don't know.. but anyway, if you can wait till it gets there I can stuff some bills in an envelope.. or have my ma cut a check and give her cash.. though all told it might be worse than an out of state one!

but I have a vested interest in keeping everything rolling.. to me it is a partnership.. your trying to set up the vehicle to distribute my content, and I'll produce content and customers through touring and recording, and by providing attractive content... but at leasst for me, and probably for you, we are still in the initial set-up phase before we are theoreticlly going to achieve some economic stability, hey maybe even make money, in the future.

so drop me a line with your address if that is cool....

I'll send an e-mail next with everything else

peace
Brian

Hey Brian,

There is a multi-level structure now,  whereas paying users get added functionality etc..  The base is still absolutely free, as before.

The services page has some of the higher level functions that are pay, check them out.  There is also payment information, etc. listed there.

hmm, I just sent an e-mail, and I can check out the Higherlevel functions but probably just don't need them, but I can spare $10 to further the cause especially if I can put it on my credit card!.. in fact I put a note to that effect, instead of sending you cash I could I just order something (you tell me what, a cd or whatever) for $10 and you void the order and keep the $.. fine with me and I keep my cash on hand.

There is a 'donate' link in your artist admin which you could use a credit card through paypal.

Would work the same as voiding an order, if you're up for it.

ok it is a done deal.. though the "thankyou.htm" didn't display for some reason.. it still may be this broewser issue at my end.. still not surre what is up, right now the ad-blocker is on and everything is working fine. which, for me, os good enough

oh was wondering too, as I sent an e-mail about PA details, wether we wanted to ipen up a thread here to discuss it on so other people can lurk and start picking up on the idea, maybe make suggestions though really the concept is so simple I'm not sure what to add.. all the complexity if any comes in what the individual artist want to provide their patrons in order to keep them subscribing and supporting their efforts. Nowhere just accepts payments and compiles the list of patrons.. I suppose if you want to get fancy about it nowhere could maintain the patron database for the artist and funnel mailings like newsletters and renewal notices...I seem to remen\ber you had a systerm set up like that, right, sometime.. where nowhere maintained the mailinglist and you did bulk mail by sending an e-mail to some address at nowhere and it was auto bulkmailed to the mailinglist.

ouch.. need coffee.. won't hit the street tonight, no vehicle.. the truck just got its windshield replaced and the glue won't set for a couple hours or so. Good enough.. I'll have trouble keeping my voice going as it is.

well.. and lots of work to so here. Been writing Alaska, and as I said, I need to figure out what I need to be flight ready with the gear and to make a couple hundred CDRs w/ labels and inserts (I have a "neat-o" system that camewith my last burner) .  I need to order things now even if I won't have to actually put it all together till just before I leave.

I remeber looking into bulk CDR burner/printers last spring.. an on-demand house liquidated and they were going for $1200 apiece... have to look into that for later, to do short-run editions like this, might be worth it.. might not.. just like a 1-4 cdr a rather iffy investment.. I'd rather just order by the 1000 and master CDs I want a 1000 of!

peace
Brian

We do the ODCD and medium size-large run pressed/silk-screened CDs as well, and for cheaper than you can get them in the US most of the time.

Anywho, if you want to start a blab about the PA system on the forums, go ahead.  Best place would be the Suggestion Box.

The e-mail system I'm designing handles everything for you, and the payments/subscriptions as well.  All you got to do is basically fullfill your duties and provide what you claimed to provide for your patrons.  Some things, like the CD shipments and such, we can handle for you, others you'll have to do yourself (Like write newsletters and make the music...  We'll send them out and such, but you gotta author them!)
