The new lines should be activated on Saturday, March 23rd.  This may mean temporary interruptions in services on NWR until that point, but will mean faster, more stable downloads/playbacks etc. as soon as the lines are enabled.

Thanks for all your patience to this point, things can only get better from here! (Or so I hope!)

Ways you can help keep things moving:  Refer paying members to NWR, and I'll give you free space for each member you refer.  Just tell me who you've refered in an e-mail, and we'll go from there!

Just got off the phone with tech-support 'It seems that even though it was supposed to be turned on yesterday, it wasn't....  I'll add this to the list and have tier two give you a call back, it may be tomorrow...'

Aaaaargh!

Well, they have screwed up AGAIN!!!!!

I NEVER got a phone call back, and was woken up early this morning by a technician knocking on my door.  'I'm here to fix the line'...  Okay, fine, get to it.

Apparently they got the contact information screwed up, were calling me 'Chris' and at the wrong number.  (To further that, the CSR I was on the phone with a few minutes ago called me Chris as well, I had to set straight about 9 people today).

So, an hour later, the line is fixed.  HOWEVER, the service provider on the other end SCREWS UP and puts us on the wrong plan, giving us Dynamic IP addresses, NO hosting permissions, and not enough bandwidth.

Fine, so I call and tell them the line is useless, I need it changed to the plan I'm supposed to be on (which of course it says in their notes on their system I was supposed to be on).  They say it will take 3 business days to activate.  Well, Friday is a holiday, so is Monday, so, that makes it Wednesday next week.

ANOTHER 7 FRICKEN DAYS.

So folks, it looks like the current lines instabilities will have to be suffered patiently, and we will also be disconnected for up to 3 days, as the current lines are to be disconnected at the end of the month.

I figured 14 days le-way was enough padding, and would prevent any screw-ups from having the service down at all, I guess I under-estimated the mass STUPIDITY of this corporation.

My appologies, I'm currently waiting for call backs on two things, first, the refund for the 14 days of USELESS service (Over $100), and the 'next level up' in management is supposed to contact me about speeding up this '3 day' process that takes a week (It actually takes less than a minute to change the 'plan' and set up the IP addresses, and only one person, but they have to find a way to justify charging me big $$$'s so they tell me it's a difficult, and time consuming process).

I'll keep you all informed as much as I can, but BE PREPARED FOR THE OUTAGE.

Nothing like it, not a shared hosting, or co-loc issue, lines are actually installed right here in my home, with my own servers.

It is the best way to do things, unfortuneatly, they are really screwing up royal... (Telus)

Good news, lines are in, and functional!  Server is running off of them now!

Uploads/Downloads should be a bit faster now, and everything should be more stable.
