Running out of space...

Okay, so now we got faster lines and bigger pipes installed...  Now, the newest problem arrises in which we are running out of storage space!

I am currently checking into purchasing some more hard-drives for the servers, this will however mean that there may be a 'hold' put on uploads for a short time of maybe a week, as I have to scrape together the money, and then actually install the drives.

It will not, however, interfere with downloads and playbacks.

There may be enough space to last the next month, but who knows, growth seems to be exponential right now.

I'm thinking that the server space might just be pegged.  I tried doing some shuffling of my files today and all the new uploads showed as having been uploaded, but with a 0k file size.  If I can be of any help with error messages or what not, just let me know.

I'm looking into the 0K thing right now, should be able to pick up a couple drives tomorrow, worked a few night shifts and saved up some dough.

Thanks for the donate bud!  Going directly to the 'fund' for new stuff to keep it all running.

Bri, if you wouldn't mind sending me those error messages, it appears we still have a couple hundred meg on the server.  This should mean the files should be still accepted, as we only need about one hundred or so for it to allow uploads.  (But wierder things have happened before).

Rod,

I donated myself.  This site is the best thing that happened to my musical aspirations in quite some time.  Thanks to the hosting space here I've gotten wide range of feedback that I never would have gotten without the ability to post the mp3s to a netwide audience.

Waldo,

The first upload appears to go fine, however it shows as a 0K file size afterwards.  When I tried to update the file, I got the following error message.

ERROR: File name already exists for aid#1471 as sid#5324

Thanks again.

I've run some early maintenance (normally run every 30 days to clear out old files), and decreased rotation count to 7 days.  This should have cleared a bunch of space.

Delete the song links that show as 0MB, and re-upload them.  I've physically removed the files so you shouldn't get the 'file exists' error (which BTW, is only because you are uploading with the same file-name, don't do that!  If you are 'updating' the file, it should have a different name)

Let me know if you have further errors.  This's probably only a stop-gap however, until I get those new drives in, but hopefully it won't be more than a few days.

Charvester,

I couldn't agree more.  I've been a little busy these past few days, but I just wanted to say that the upload went without a hitch.  Thanks for the help Waldo.
