OK I'm hopefully another step closer to the next CD "Newage". The latest off it is a track called "AlieNation", of which I've just updated the mp3 so that the vocals aren't quite so out of tune.

There's also a new demo of another track destined to be on the CD called "Destroyed". I actually quite like this demo but it's way to untidy.

Kick ASS Mani!

I gotta save up some cash to buy all your albums ;)

I did notice distortion like crazy on Destroyed, but assume that's why you said it'll be re-recorded.

A slight bit of distortion on the lows of AlieNation as well.

A great tune, mani. Very tense and interesting. I've mentioned before that your stuff sounds like a nice mixture of Elvis Costello, XTC and Bad Manners but at the same time it's very original.
The contrast between the almost chaotic verses and the short melodic chorus is very effective.
The vocal performance is brilliant, as usual.

Good luck,
Erik

Thanks fellas
The music for Destroyed was probably recorded maybe 3 year ago now [long before I had my VS-880 I use to record nowadays] on me old 4 track which has now bitten the dust. Like you say W there's allsorts of distortion and untidiness so it does need re-recording but hopefully people will get an idea of the song and the sort of direction I'm taking.

I do tend to be a bit heavy handed with the mixing  :-/ (i.e. the distortion in AlieNation) but I have to have things playing full belt when I mix, so it becomes a sort of compromise I make to get as powerful a mix as I can. I've slightly remixed AlieNation again to take some of the peaks out of the final chorus vocals where there's some distortion in the louder parts of the harmonies.

:D Thanks Eric for the kind words yeah I like the contrast between the verse and the chorus that what makes the song for me. And I'm actually starting to enjoy singing now whereas I've always been terrified of it. Hey Elvis Costello the day I can sing like him is the day I'll be a very happy man [have you heard his latest CD very good indeed], I gotta admit I was never really in to Bad Manners myself although I loved the 2 tone thing but I tended to go for groups like The Beat or The Specials.

Anywho thanks for taking the time to listen everyone. Hopefully they'll be more to come soon.

Cheers Mani
