Hi,

I registered my account today for the first time, uploaded an image and uploaded my first track.

Problem is, I cannot hear it play back in either HiRes or LowRes.  And I can't see my image either.  I did get a successful upload message for both uploads.

Whats gone wrong?

Stablegate,

Refer to the FAQ under help to configure your players properly.  If you can't get things working from there, I need to know what player/operating sytem/browser & version you are using as well as your connection speed.

I'll check into the image issue right now, there was some modifications to that system which may have made the images not function properly.

Oh yes, and I need to know the link to the artists account you created!  You can get it from your 'get links' page.

Thanks for the reply, I can now see the image up there, many thanks.

I have followed all the instructions on making winamp 2.75 the default MP3 player, RealPlayer and Windows Media players are the other two players that I have on my system.

But I still can't play HiRes, LowRes nor download from any of the listed artists.  Except the "top 10 in this genre", I can play them all okay in HiRes, LowRes and I can download them.

I have win 98/winamp 2.75.  My link is:

BTW, are you the Waldo that is a member of the HomeRec forum?  I was recommended to this site by DavidK.

Yep, I am that very same guy.  DavidK's good folk.

It's odd, since nothing seperates the top 10 from the remainder of the artists...

What exactly happens when you try to playback and it doesn't work?

Also, right click on one of the 'playback' icons, and click 'copy shortcut' and paste it here for me.

Hi Waldo,

DavidK just posted one of my songs up on the World Folk genre, Drovers Hill.  So I thought I would get an account of my own :D

Anyway, the problem seems to be in the artists listed in the genre.  I can open any other file in any top 10.  Here is a link to my song that I can't get to:

http:///cgi-bin/playsong.cgi/?sid=5652&lofi=y&plyr=m3u&$fartime/falling_like_rain_1.m3u

I just tried playing a link in the pop/rock top ten that did not work:

http:///cgi-bin/playsong.cgi/?sid=5639&lofi=y&plyr=m3u&$fartime/halfwaydown.m3u

And here is the same song that did work in the top 10:

I see the bug, working on it.

The error was limited to the genre pages, each individual artists page was fine, so that would explain the reason why some worked, and some did not.

All should be fixed now, let me know if anything else is broke.

Great stuff, all working now.  Great service and thanks for all your help. ;D

Best of luck with your enterprise.

I do it for the love of music, so wouldn't really call it an enterprise ;)  But it is getting close to a full time job.... would love if it at least paid for itself!
