NEW: 1:1 Banner exchange added!

I just added a brand-new banner exchange program to NWR. That's right, 1:1 RATIO (unheard of with other banner exchanges)! This means that every one time a banner is seen on your page, your banner will be seen on someone else in the programs page!

The original code was majorly buggy, but I've made some big modifications, so let me know if there is any errors.

468x60 is the standard banner size. GIF or JPEG accepted!

Can you just clarify. Do I have to add the banner code to a page on my home website? or here at Nowhere

Would I then get a rotation of artist banners showing up on my page, or a specific banner? How does it actually work?

I actually design banners. Static or animated. I'll just post a couple of samples here to give an idea. If anybody wants banners designed, please get in touch. My price? Well I have a very cool CD available that you can order direct through Nowhere radio..

Oops, Jeza, made a couple errors in the code. Take out the spaces in the URLS and it should work for you!

I copied and pasted the code directly from the signup page, so the mistakes were pre formatted by your good self. A little misleading there. And there were quite a few spaces. Got it fixed and working now.

So am I the first person in then? The link goes to your front page, where I saw my banner, and that linked back to my Indie Ring site.. So how does that push traffic to my Nowhere page?

I might move the code to a different page. Could I potentially put the code on more than one page?

You must be using an off the wall browser, or your copy/paste is copying CR+LF's as spaces, 'cause the code hasn't got any spaces in it... I didn't write this app, only modified it a little and fixed some bugs, there's bound to be a few more I'm going to have to fix.

Anywho, the banner exchange pushes traffic where-ever you want it. If you linked to your other site, clicks will go to that site. If you linked to your NWR page, clicks go to your NWR page.

You won't see your own banner on your own page, ever (or at least you shouldn't), only other members pages (and NWR) will have your banner on it. That's the whole premise of a banner exchange.

Right now, there isn't a ton of people on the exchange, and not enough traffic to add up to more than NWR gets, so you will see alot of the default ads appear on your page until other artists sign up and build up their credits.

I just gave you 1,000 credits, so you can see how it works, just look at the bottom of this forum for example, refresh if you don't see your banner. Click on it, it takes you to the site you signed up.

I fixed the code on the sign-up that delivers the code to the user, now it sits in a text box so the browser can't munge the code and ad spaces or CR's.

Hopefully this should help new signups

Almost missed one of your questions! Yes, you can put the code on as many pages as you like.

The more places it is, the better off you are, as it will increase your credits and exposures elsewhere every time it is seen.

That's what I figured.

Yeah I've been playing around with the layout and jingles all day. Seems to work a treat. And it seems there's more people hitting the page than just me testing. I've made it my main sig link and I'll add the code to more pages. Dat's very cool. I like all the ads that are coming up too. Does it register click throughs etc ..

Okay .. the ultimate test will be
does it sell CDs?

Yeah, if you log in at http://www.nowhereradio.com/bannerx you can get your view/credit/click statistics for your banner.

In my experience, exposure sells CDs, so the more exposure you get, the more CDs you sell, and this is a way of getting extra exposure...

Nice of you to say that. It's probably true that I have more of a fan base in the US than at home these days, through the internet. Would love to come over and play to y'all one day. You'll just have to buy an album and make do huh !!
