Hello! Dono here...greetings from the Great State of Texas.

I would appreciate any feedback and constructive critisism on my first three tunes recorded in the digital realm. Sins of the Father has been receiving some attention, of which I is pleased. Currently they are located at:

Equipment I own:

DAW: AMD Opteron 175 64bit Processor, 2GB Memory, 3 120GB Hard Drives in an Antec Sonata Quiet Case

Cakewalk Sonar 5 Producer (Soon to upgrade to v. 6)
Various Soft Synths and Effects
Presonus Firepod
Various Mics, Shure, Marshall, AKG, etc.
Yamaha NS10m monitors (bought them in 1984!)
Korg M1 used as MIDI Controller. Still ticking!
Various outboard keyboards for vintage analog sounds
Guitars and more Guitars

I also welcome the opportunity to critique recordings.

Thank you in advance

General Help / Re:self ship help

The cost structure will probably remain around that range, with a minimum set rate to cover costs, anything above that would be based on a percentage (someone selling a 5 DVD set for example will incur a larger fee as most merchant accounts go by percentage).

The plan is to provide several forms of payment, including most major credit cards and PayPal, but not limitted to. There is a few other services I am considering also.

The time frame is really wild right now, as this is really just a one man show. I've probably got at least a months full time coding to do, and then there's all the business related stuff. Honestly I don't see any major releases before the end of the year. I could win the lottery though....

And yeah, I loved the self-ship idea, there's some obvious hurdles that need to be crossed for it to work, but it can, for us indies, be a great tool.

Waldo,

Thanks for the prompt reply. I sent the query by email before I got my confirm for the forum. Better to discuss this in the forum. Others will have the same questions.

As far as my stuff goes if they pay they get a CD. If it doesn't get to them I send them another. Stuff happens.

Still you have got to set it up like you said. All verifiable. Customers will judge your site by self ship performance as well as all other services.

Do you have a cost structure in place yet? Your promo said as little as $2. Any idea how this will work?

Will you be accepting Credit Cards and Paypal?

Any idea on a time frame?

I really like the self ship idea. I give my CDs away at shows. They are all custom made and signed. It would be great to extend this exact model to the internet.

Thanks,

Hi Larry,

The self ship program is currently offline. I'm trying to put together a bit more cash so I can finish the upgrades to NWR, and release them to the public, but it has been some time, and probably will be a bit more as I've found myself incredibly swamped with the 'day job' AND the 'night job'. I'm sure you know how that is being a musician yourself ;)

Basically, how it will work is sort of like an 'escrow' system. A user pays, you receive notification, you ship and provide tracking information, that info is forwarded to the user. The user notifies us of the receipt via. the system, the money gets dropped into your NWR account until your account reaches a minimum payout (since sending money anywhere costs money) minus any fees, and your done. In the event of a dispute, the tracking information is confirmed, if the product arrived you win, if it didn't but the tracking is legit you deal with the shipping company, if you never shipped or there is no tracking info, the user wins... Make sense?

There'll be an email going out to all members as soon as the programs are back, and NWR gets to 'level 5'.

Got your email as well, hope this is sufficient.
