Title: Jeza featured on Major UK cover mount CD
Post by: MrJeza on August 19, 2002, 06:52:09 AM
:D
I've just learned that 3 jeza tracks
'How can I help you?', 'Darkness' and 'Chasing after wind', will be featured on Britain's biggest-selling monthly PC magazine cover mounted CD with 150,000+ readership in the UK. 'Computer Shopper' Vol 177 Nov 2nd issue. Now dat's cool

The three tracks couldn't be more different in style.

How can I help you? : (featuring Gwyo Zepix from 'GONG' on keyboards) "A warm, evocative mid tempo gem that strikes quite a poignently optimistic chord in this self centred society. Mr Withers and the collosal 'Lean on me' could easily have been inspired by this". SWT ~ "Do you remember the Style ? Eric Clapton, Chris Rea, Randy Newman ?" Dust on Feet ~ "Wistful, with just the smallest tinge of regret. Jeza moves with the masters here, in musicianship, interpretation and lyrical quality. . .This is the way Van used to do it." Patti Sterling

Darkness : "I hear the Santana influences. I like the loose guitar feel... Like Willie Nelson... Spacey guitar leads, smooth vocals, and latin drum percussion make this track a perfekt 10! " . Magamatic Reflex ~ "The music is urging continually forward. A lovely river, but with hidden (dark n´deep?) places. JEZA is walking over the moving waters without any uncertainty. His voice speaks smooth yet forcible. Watch out! He´s targeting the layers under Your skin." Harmonic Obsessions

Chasing after wind is startling in its change of musical direction, but stands up well thematically, offering a bit more of the cheap spy thriller theme to the mix. Consistantly evident is Jeza's unique sense of phrasing, melody, and intonation. Chris K ~ Based on a 3000 year old text 'Ecclesiastes' (Quohelet) by King Solomon. Latin American influenced melody by Jeza. Featuring CM (USA) on flugalhorn, keyboards and percussion

Of particular interest to UK and Europe
;D

It's TRUE .. i just picked my copy up from my local newsagent 100 yards up the road, and it's in every newsagent around the country for the next month. The NOVEMBER issue (??) 177 of COMPUTER SHOPPER magazine, has a cover mounted CD which looks like this

On the CD, amongst all the games and cool graphic software is a section like a mini music website called OSMOSIS, and that has featured tracks by up and comin' indie artists !! This month, that looks like THIS

with 'How can I help you?' playing automatically as you enter the page

TOO COOL .. you might also spot the name SUNBURN IN CYPRUS, mixmaster groovester from Germany, Ulli Conrad who hangs out at Besonic. So two for the price of one guys .. you gotta pick up a copy. The cover price is £3.25, with Exports for £3.75 so presumably copies get out to Europe, please report back if you can get copies in Germany or Italy etc.. I would doubt US cause UK computer prices are just plain stoopid by US standards ..

Those of you that manage to pick this up, there are guidelines in there how to submit tracks and where. It's dead easy, down to filling out a permission form and sending some info, it also goes online to their website, and as I say these mags are on every newsagent shelf in the country right now

COOOLIO i'm gonna go check out the games now !!
