Title: My first post
Post by: rguagenti on December 21, 2003, 08:57:30 AM
This is my first time on Nowhere Radio and I think it's a great thing.

I just uploaded my first song and the playback is strange. It stops every few seconds or so and eventually the playback sounds like it is underwater.

Does anyone know what's up?

Thanks for your help

First, it could be the bit-rate is too high for your connection/machine to handle.  We use actual streaming here to protect the tracks, unlike other sites that just use DLAPB (download and play back).

Try using the lo-fi connection if your machine/connection is too slow, or re-encode at a lower bitrate (128 kbps is recommended as a max).

Also, a bad encode could cause this issue as well, or using VBR.  For streaming, CBR is recommended.  I also recommend using LAME for encoding, as it's the most widely compatible, and best representation of the original track (even though it'll never be the same as a full quality WAV).
