Welp, it was bound to happen some day...
Right now, it's blizzarding outside like you wouldn't believe. Not unheard of in May here, but usually not this bad.
So, the power lines are stressed, and transformers are blowing all over the place... I was sitting back after a long day of coding, relaxing and watching a movie, and *poof* everything goes really bright, and then dark and silent...
Instantly I run to check on the servers, and whata you know they're fine... Humming away like they should be...
And then there's a resounding *pop* as the UPS gives way to the sudden surge of power restoring, and dropping out again.
So, I need to come up with about $200 for a new UPS to keep things running smoothly again, until then there may be temporary outages as the power lines are slaughtered throughout the rest of the night and repaired.
Anyone who wishes to chip in, feel free...
Hello, Waldo!
I'm a brand Newbee here, and I like the site a lot. I can't seem to stream any music, though. maybe the storm damage is the problem. I get an error 8007000D message in Windows Media Player when I try to play lo-fi songs. I downloaded a newer version of WMP and get the same thing. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
The Overdubbing Idiot
Yeah, Windows Media Player doesn't support the SC PLS streaming format. Use something other than Windows Media for M3U/PLS playback is my best suggestion, every other player that I know of is supported 100% (real player, music match, quick time, winamp, macamp, apple itunes, etc. etc.).
I need about $1500 more to set up another server using NT and Windows Media services, since they have no *nix support (which is what NWR runs off of)... Everything else does.... But hey, that's Microsoft for you.
Might be a few weeks, or even months before I can make that much dough, I'll be pulling cable for months to come up with that much!
