Hi guys and girls...just made my way to this board and am promoting an effort to find a cure for Juvenile Diabetes through music i write. For the music posted on www.mp3.com/damienproject, all the proceeds from the site go to finding a cure for this disease. You can learn more form the site. It costs you nothing but about 5 minutes of your time to listen to the songs and MP3 pays a half of cent for everyone you listen to. Of course i hope you enjoy the music also. Any questions or comments feel free to post back to me on the board or from the site or to mp3damienproject@aol.com. I also will be glad to return the favor and listen to anyone else's music also!! :)
Thanks for your time and hopefully your constructive criticism :)
:) Hiya Mark
Finally got to take in your stuff. I took a listen to all of 'em (albeit in lo-fi) and some good tracks you've got there. Your style kinda reminded me of Andy Summers' (The Police) solo work but with more of a rock leaning whereas he's taken a sort of jazz/blues direction.
Your guitar work is top class and you've achieved a powerful performance throughout. I can see why you'd like to target film music not only because they're instrumentals but they do have that sort of feel. I think the tracks that work best are those where you've taken a more sort of ambient approach (e.g. Angels Ways) the use of the keyboards there compliment the guitar work well and give some space to the mix. "So You Say" and "A Window Over Boston" are even better with a beautiful acoustic mood, I've always felt ambient pieces work better as movie scores or whatever as they lend atmosphere to a scene rather than trying to dominate it (of course that's dependent on what scene they are being put to).
All in all a body of work with some real substance and all in a good cause to boot. I hope you do well and I'm sure you will.
Good luck
Mani
