I've read the FAQ on this, but am still confused. Does this mean I can't put a link to my "singles" page at another website or bbs? On the add links page, it says I can feel free to link anywhere.
This is my first time putting anything on the internet, so please forgive me for not underdstanding.

You can link to pages, yes.
Deep/Direct linking refers to media, so images and your music cannot be directly linked to from another site, this would be considered bandwidth theft as the pages contain ads which help cover the cost of hosting that media.
