Title: uploading
Post by: paresh on September 25, 2003, 05:46:50 AM
Hi - When I tried to upload my song, it didn't complete & I got a "page cannot be found" message as the page disappeared. Does this have to do w dial-up internet connection? Any advice?
Thanks

Most likely, most dial-up accounts can't handle large file uploads.  Some ISPs also place caps on the file size (around 2MB).

Make sure you clear your caches and force a refresh before you try to upload again.

Thanks for yr help - however I still had no luck. Do others w Earthlink dial-up have this problem? Their tech support doesn't really help much. I don't know where to go fr here...I hate to give up. One tech suggested FTP but that sounds over my head. Can FTP be used & is it hard to do?

FTP cannot be used due to inherent security issues.

I've heard of others complain about earthlink dial-up before, but definately not all of them.

Worst case, I'd get your machine looked at by qualified techs.
