Title: What would you pay for?
Post by: TheRealWaldo on August 03, 2002, 12:20:30 PM
What sort of service or product would you be looking for, or would you pay for if available, that involved the internet, music, and/or recording?

How much would you be willing to pay for such service/product, and how critical is it that you have such a service/product?

If I had the money:
I don't really know how much these would cost:

A Quality Microphone.
Sample CD's (CD's filled with HQ non-copyright instrument recordings)
A Keyboard Synth. (don't know what make, MIDI)

Thats all I need really, actually, its all i would LIKE to have.
I don't really need it in creating the music I make.

I'm not sure mandatory reviews would go over well with the listening community... They are a quiet bunch...

Works well with an artist only community, but we really want the music to reach more than just the artists.

Didn't we have a thread with some good ideas about reviews that Pathros started. A sort of review panel that would pick so many songs once a month/once every 2 months or whatever from a list of songs submitted by artists. Then a best song of the month(whatever) would be chosen, given prizes some free exposure and to top it all a section of the forum would be made available solely to discuss the various songs and reviews.

If it was done say every quarter maybe an EP (CD) could be produced of all the songs that got on to the review list, with the winner(s) top of the bill.

:P Sorry I'm being lazy here I guess I should go find the link.

Yes, unfortuneatly nothing ever came of it.  Nobody stepped up and volunteered, etc.

The other downside is that if we produced a CD with the 'winners', that means that it's spent money, not income...  We've got no money to spend, let alone pay the bills!

Going back to the original question. Well web space yeah, bandwidth yeah and I'm sure there are other great ideas I've got but I've got to go and find them.

So I'm gonna put my grey matter back to work and see just what it is ...I need ...but can't get. ;)

I'll be back
