Blood Ruby creates female-fronted atmospheric alternative music somewhere in the vein of dream pop, ethereal and neoprogressive rock.

woah,
i had a chance to listen to midsummer fires
i have to say this song has some serious strengths:
it is an exilent example of song development. over time it indeed "builds" like a bonfire fire as they suggest and goes out in a dreamy blaze.

i particularly like some of the recording techniques which lend to the kindof sparkly shimmery pop atmosphere. the split vocals toward the end are soothing to hear. i like also that crack of thunder at the 2.5 minute mark

i have to say, the vocalist of this "female fronted" band is....adequate. she demonstrates a control of the pop sound, but id like to see her push her voice out of the mainstream a little, just giving it some form of identity beyond pop female vocals. that is perhaps a statement of preference on my part, she is talented. and she does a fantastic ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh toward the end which was magical and carried my interest.

and the rest of the band puts on a well crafted interweaving, easy-to-listen-to melodic tribute to the glory of the kingdom of dream pop.

the lyrics im neither here nor there on, i dont have a real passion about midsummer events, but for someone who does, maybe this song will help to get them into the frenzy of lighting up.

its been a pleasure listening to you guys, ill be back to check out some of your other songs

I LOVED that song Sleepwalk. Nice etherial riffs with sweet vocal work. Very nicely done indeed. I think this is VERY commercial and could easily get airplay in say....Seattle. I would dig a album of that material when driving on a long trip.......especially somewhere nice and uncrowded. I consider it "Head Music" where you can allow your mind to wander....very useful at time....and frankly quite relaxing.......we all need more of that ..........
