Playback Help

I am hearing that other users cannot play back one of my songs listed on NWR. (I have two songs listed; the song in question is "Unconditional" at nowhereradio.com/joey/singles).

I have played back both songs on two separate computers and both play fine for me, yet I'm hearing from other users that they cannot play back the songs but can play any other song listed on NWR.

I have no idea what the problem could be; both files were uploaded as MP3s.

Plays okay for me as well.

The only thing I could think of would be a faulty encode, or an encode that their players do not support.

What encoder are you using, and if you know, what players are they using?

If you make that particular song available for download, I can take a closer look.

Thanks Waldo... I saw your post on the HR.com BBs as well. I would guess that those users are attempting to use WM to play the file back. I will make the song available for download for a short time so you can take a look.

I know you're not familiar with it as I browsed the Help Boards prior to posting, but I encoded from WAV to MP3 using the Dell MusicMatch on Computer A and then uploaded to your site from Computer B (networked) computer.

Thanks for any additional input you can provide on this.

Yeah, I'm not sure about the Dell Musicmatch stuff, don't use it because I don't trust it.  I think they are using an old Xing based codec, but can't be sure.

I've added you to the 'hidden artists' list, under the 'Artists Only' section is a 'Technical' forum, I have listed a whole bunch of encoders that are tested, and known to function very well.

I believe the heading is 'Better audio codecs for collaborators'.
