Up to now I've tended to write instrumentals that serve as a vehicle for my own guitar improvisation.
Instruments: Electric and acoustic guitars, guitar synth, electric bass, MIDI synthesizers, and percussion Music Style: Instrumental rock with a lot of jazz flavoring Influences: King Crimson, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Wes Montgomery, Pat Martino, Weather Report, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Beatles, XTC, Derek Trucks, the Meters, the Neville Brothers, James Brown, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, the Allman Brothers, Robben Ford, Mike Stern, Ollie Halsall, Allan Holdsworth, Gretchen Parlato, Mick Taylor, Wayne Krantz, the Police, Bjork, the Chemical Brothers, Prodigy, Bach, Beethoven, Debussy, Stravinsky, George Crumb... History: Born and raised in Long Island, NY. Started playing guitar at about age 16. Played in some rock bands at home and in upstate NY during college. Moved to San Francisco, CA, and played a bit there before returning to school to finish my degree. Have been mostly an armchair musician since. |
