endlessblue endlessblue Location: Greenville, Ms, Artist Description: I try to make political and social statements through my music. I've been focusing on such topics as our country's current political status, religion, drug use, and self reflection. Band members: Cody Ruth Instruments: Electric and acoustic guitar, tenor guitar, mandolin, electric and double bass, and set drums Music Style: Its hard to really explain my style. To me my music sounds like dark folk, or creative punk. Influences: Ive been influenced by all the music I've heard. Starting out with alternative bands such as Dredg, The Violent Femmes, Dinosaur jr, and Sonic youth among others. I have also been influenced by blues musicians such as Bobby Rutledge, Alvin Youngblood Hart, and Jay Kirgis. I am now mainly listening to classical music both Eastern and Western Similar Artists: It depends on how you look at it. History: I learned to play bass and guitar coping riffs from alternative bands. I then went on to embrace roots music. Living in the south I started playing blues and bluegrass. I am now focusing on writing my own original songs, for my musical project endlessblue. I also play in a traditional + science fiction blues band called Dynamo Ray. I have received musical training from Barry Bays at Delta State University, and am now studing music at the Uiversity of Southern Mississippi. |
